The ideal for the skier: a comfortable boot, without « hard points », but precise: the foot must stick to the sole. How do you deal with all these foot shapes without making special molds?
Inflatable air cushions on the top of the foot, inflated by a pump built into the back of the shoe. The foot is then pressed firmly against the sole, which is in fact just a pocket filled with microbeads. The pump, having applied the right pressure to the air cushions, automatically switches to a vacuum pump on the sole side: the air vacuum blocks the beads together, creating a fairly rigid sole that fits the foot perfectly (whatever its shape).
